Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

SCOUT, SCOUT SCOUT!!! The better you know where the birds roost and move, the better your chances of being where they are.

Buy a couple of different type of calls and practice (BUT NOT ON REAL BIRDS BEFORE THE SEASON!).

This will be my first year for turkey as well. I have a couple of nice pieces of land to hunt deer on, but have never seen or heard any turkeys. I talked to one of our local DNR guys about how to locate them and he said that this time of year they won't respond to owl or crow locator calls...or anything else for that matter. I'm just trying to get an idea if there are any birds in these areas. I have not seen any of the huge "scrape areas" that I'm told they make when looking for food.
Comments and suggestions greatly appreciated.
Craig
