The slate call makes the best purr. But mouth calls are a close 2nd. Primos slate and Quaker Boy triple reed are awesome. Arrowmaster

for me it would be my home made slate or my lynch box call, ive fooled many on that one

Actually I feel when someone masters and I mean masters the purr on a mouth call, it's unbeatable and will win many a contest not to mention fool Toms but for the rest of us, the slate call is definately the one to use.

Slate, The best I have came across, Quakerboy Eracicator Slate, With a Primos Cuttin' Striker
Call, 20$
Striker,20$
Called in many turkeys in one season and sounds soooooooooooooo good
