Turkey barrel for 870 SPS?

I just purchased a Remington 870 SPS. This is the thumbhole, laminated stock with a montecarol cheekpiece. This configuration comes with a rifled, cantilever barrel. Now this is a great deer gun, but the way it handles makes me think it would be a great Turkey gun too. In looking for a barrel, I've come up with numerous questions.

[ol][*]If I just got a vent rib extra barrel for use, wouldn't the monte carlo stock put mysighting plainover the barrel?[*]Would you suggest a barrel with rifle sights and put a turkey choke tube in it? (its like their deer barrel with Rem Choke)[*]Anyone know if there is such a critter like a short barrel with fiber optic rifle sites available for the 870?[/ol]

I believe that Remington makes a Cantilever barrel with their screw in choke system. Might check into buying one of those, and get a aftermarket turkey choke for improved patterns. The fact that your gun comes with a Monte-Carlo stock, your going to have to stick with a Cantilevered barrel or get a regular barrel and go with a B-Square saddle mount.

Thanks. I was wondering about that. I've always bowhunted Turkey so this gun thing is new to me. I've had some issues with turkey while trying to hunt the rut for deer this year and have decided that I need to thin the herd a little more next spring. Hence the shotgun.

[ol][*]Crawled into a tree before first light. I was really quiet and was waiting for first light. Didn't know there was a turkey in the tree next to me until sunup at which time it decided to fly down, within a few feet of me, erasing several years of my life. Luckily I didn't fall out of the tree.[*]Have two nice fat Does working their way towards me. At about 30 yards the deer stop. A "herd" of turkey, like 30 - 40, came running across in front of them, sending them the other way.[/ol]
Just a couple instances that come immediately to mind.
