Default Preparing for your turkey mount

I have never mounted a turkey was just wondering what you need to do to prepare it for the taxidermy. Cause what if i didnt want to take it straight to get it mounted what do you half to do to freeze it. Do you just throw it in the freezer. Just curious to what has to be done. Thanks for any info.

I am sure u will get a good response on here but you may want to try the taxidermy forum, so a pro will answer. My guess is take out your meat and remove as much else as you can and then freeze the entire bird.

Try to clean off any blood.Straighten out all the feathers so they are layin the right way.slide it into a garbage bag and put into the freezer. That's about it.

I'm getting my bird mounted this year. Shot it about 7 a.m. and it was at the taxidermist by noon. She told me to do nothing to the bird---don't field dress it or anything!!!
