Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Roostin with the birds, lol

I was deer hunting this afternoon, and watchedabout 15birds feeding in a field. I'm not turkey hunting this fall, the owner of the property im hunting on doesn't want anyone shooting turkeys. He says they keep the tick population down. Anyway, after I get busted by a doe, a turkey starts vocalizing behind me, I'm gessing it was some kind of assembly call, kinda sounded like a steady putt putt putt, but he purred a little too. NowI'm not sure ifthe doe busted me or the turkey spooked her... Anyway, I counted 21 birds coming from the field through a break in the treeline, then they took a left on this logging road right behind my stand, right about to where the calling bird was. They all milled about for a while, then it was fly up time. What a racket! They all took to the trees all around me, just a little higher. I mean all around me. What an awesome sight! I was afraid one might decide to share my tree with me, I was sure glad to be wearing a hat! took a while for them to settle down. I'm surprised I was able to get out of my tree at dark without spooking them all off. Why can't I see birds like this when I want to hunt them? Saw 6 within 20 yards of my tree last week on opening morning too...

We have a roost tree that we can see them fly up at night . It is pretty interesting to watch . If you ever get to hunt there you'll know where to look for them . good luck .
