Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Where are you from? I'm curious what the season and tag rules are for cougars? We have an open season on coyotes and so with a small game licence I can shoot 'em as much or whenever I want but nothing else is open in the spring here.

How much did it weigh?

Congrats by the way.

This post sounds kind of "Fishy" to me.

How many of us take BOTH a shotgun AND a rifle at the same time into the woods to hunt Turkeys?

I don't think so.

I smell a Troll.

Oregon...It's legal to shoot Cougars with a permit, the site does not list any specific dates or weapons...

So you just happened to have your rifle along out turkey hunting? What state were you in? Did you have a tag for the cougar?

I am from Bend Oregon. I pack my rifle in my truck for coyotes. We were getting skunked Turkey hunting so we went to go varmint shooting. We spotted the cat on crossing the road. So we put a hunt on him and found him in a tree. I shot three times and the cat was not going down. I shot one more time and he leaped to another tree, started to slide and fell to his death. In Oregon a few years ago they banned hunting cats with dogs and now the cat population is growing to much. They are even starting to come into town and kill peoples dogs. Cougar hunting is pretty much permited all year long except for a couple of months in the summer. They allow one cougar tag and one additional cougar tag for certain parts of the state. It may sound "fishy" to you but it's no joke! Thats a cat that I shot while turkey hunting.
