Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Patience pays off for late season Gobbler

I have already taken one bird so I thought i would try my luck at trying to bag a bird with a muzzleloader. I went out and set up and two toms just walked by my decoy and didn't even stop. Well finally three jakes came into my setup. One had the heck beat out of him, he only had at most 5 tailfeathers left. Well they all proceeded to strut for my decoy until they bumped it so hard they knocked it over. Things only got worse for (Henryetta) my decoy. She was violated big time. That jake jumped right on top of her and proceeded to try and breed her for 20 MINUTES!!! Finally my wait paid off and a bigger mature bird came running in, full strut and then chased off the jake. He then stuck his head up and BOOM. I waited for the smoke to clear and sure enough big longbeard down. Dropped him w/ a 12 ga. blackpowder gun at 22 yds. Weighed 19 lbs, 3/4 inch spurs and a nice 9 1/4 inch beard. I will post pics as soon as i can.
