Thats what I was thinking too. I have lots of pics of a red fox not far from this. At first, I thought it was too big to be a fox.

I thought fox right away with the color, but looks pretty big. Plus the snout seems pretty big/think, versus a fox which would have a narrower snout.

pretty hard to say...
