Default Odd growth/wound [update 1/7]Survived?

Got a pic before it opened fully.
Wonder what it is?

It appears to be an abscessed wound of some sort. You can easily see the draining pus.

Looks like an injury thats healing up.
It should be healed up by hunting season.

Looks very similar to a wound we saw on a deer last yr and we eventually shot In our case it was a large thorn about 2 inches long all summer would swell burst then do it all over thorn was causing it to fester all around this thorny spike Just a thought may be similar

Ask yer neighborhood poachers to atleast use broadheads!!! and centerfire rifles(not air-rifles)! I hope she makes it! She might need more protein to promote healing. Is it lawful in your area to feed/bait?

The doe is definitely sickly, compared to others she has a dull coat and no sparkle in her eyes.
I imagine she's not going to make it.
Looking more closely at the shots, it seems that there might be as many as 4 of those growths.
