Default Moultrie M-80 Battery Calculater????

Anyone know how accurate their battery guage is? I mean if it says battery life is 53% does it drop 0% a week later even though it took months for the batteries to go from 99% to 53%? Thanks, Pike

i have seen it say 25% before, but nothing less. usually it says it is full until i run it a few times in a row, then it will say what it really is....i noticed the cam doesn't function correctly after 50% of the batt is gone.

I don't rely on the battery guage. I use a digital multimeter. The reason being as follows:1) to read 100%, your battery has to show 1.5 volt or higher in the Moultrie camera. 2)A rechargeable Energizer battery shows 1.2 volt on the package. Testing with a meter they may show 1.2 to 1.28 volt. Put them in a charger will bring them up to 1.38 to 1.44 volt. These batteries at full recharge will only show approximately 75% in a Moultrie camera. I feel Moultrie software was designed to acknowledge the 1.5 or higher voltage batteries. I have 3 of the Moultrie Game Spy D55-IR and they all read the same. Using the meter, when your batteries get down to approximately 1.0 volt, your camera will malfunction or not even work. Sometimes only one battery has to drop to make it fail. The others could still have higher readings.
