Default Wildgame iR3c Cameras Are Junk

After buying one of this model several months ago and getting poor battery life out of it,I returned the unit to WGI and they sent me a new unit of the same model after concluding mine had a short of some sort. Well this one works worse than the last one due to the fact that the flash does not work and it takes pictures when it wants to which is not very often. The batteries lasted the same amount of time about 12 days and then it goes dead even though it says it has half battery life left. If you see this model on sale, like at Bass Pro Shop in a 2 pack for 70.00 don't buy them they are junk. I'll be honest with you if they were giving them away I would'nt waste my time buying batteries for one.

doetrain: sorry to hear about your cameras. If you have access to a digital meter, check the batteries you pulled from the camera. The battery indicators on cameras are not reliable. When batteries get down to 1.0 volt area, they will either not operate a camera properly or not at all. I tried some of the Energizer rechargeables. The package shows 1.2 volt. Testing them, I have had readings of 1.22 volt to 1.28 volt. Take these batteries and put in a charger. They can be bumped up to 1.38 to 1.42 volt. They are supposed to be a slow drain battery, but as mentioned when the battery gets down in the area of 1.0 volt the camera fails. I would like to see Energizer built a 1.5 volt rechargeable battery then it would have a larger working range and be worth while for use in a trail camera.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. Just seems the quality of the lower end cameras is hit and miss.

Blessings......Pastorjim

It does seem like you get what you pay for when it comes to trail cams. This is the first time I have ever bought one and I guess I should have studied it a bit more than I did.
Every time I see one of your post I think of my Pastor Jim at our Church, his name is Jim Savastio and he has been my Pastor for 16 years. Blessings to you to.
