Anything cheap will probably not have a very fast trigger time but you can overcome that by putting down some sort of food or other attractant.

The price range of the camera is really only limited by your budget. You can get cams from $39 up to $800. Most decent cams with decent trigger speeds are going to be in the $200 price range...not always. I agree that putting something to stop the animal will make up for slow trigger times.

The WGI X6C has a two second trigger but when used over a mineral lick they are pretty impressive as far as picture quality and video quality and only cost $120.

I have not spent more than $250 for a cam and have been satisfied with my results.

I am a Moultrie guy. Good quality one for the money is the D-55 IR. 125 bucks and the battery life is great and so are the pictures. You can spent a lot more but if it is over a lick then trigger speed might not be worth spending the extra money.

dI just got inot this and have a Moultrie and a Cudde back and hands down is the Moultrie so far.

I then went and bought bear boxes or metal enclosures to mount to the tree which are lockable. Won't stop the serious theif but will slow them donw.

Those came from native outdoors
