What kind of camera is in this? I never heard of a KD600. Could it be a Sony S600?

Either way, it looks a little blurry in the night photos. Maybe try a different focus setting or something. The daytime photos shouldn't have any blurriness to them either, even when the deer are running. Should have a quick enough shutter with that much light during the daytime.

Could you post a pic of the unit itself. It seems to have some focus issues that could probably be fixed.

You are correct, it is a Sony 600, I have been calling it that since the builders initials are KD. I posted to get this kind of responce. Needless to say I was disappointed with the quaility. I will see what I can do to correct the problem. It has a Yeti board and I am not to up on that at this point. Thanks

Thanks for the offer, It is in the woods and I will collect it and bring it to the house for testing and adjusting. I will get as soon as I can get to the property. I will post the picture of the unit this week sometime. I have had it for a couple of months to try to get it figured out but something is wrong. Probably operator error.

If You cannot get it to focus, i would send it back to the builder.

I have built and run 4 P41's, 2 S40's, and 1 S600, and i have found that sometimes you just run across an S40 or S600 that just will not focus at night no matter what you do. It usually means someone has swapped out the CCD and lens assembly. They are focus calibrated one by one on the assembly line so they are are not all interchangable. Usually i end up trying 2 or 3 more before i find one that does focus good at night.

I'm hoping it's just a settings issue because i don't think i have ever seen blurry deer moving in a daytime picture before.

Is your ISO set on auto? I think they focus better with the ISO on auto.

Check your settings and see if they are set up like Whitetail Supply recommends.
0EV FOR IR Choose +1.0EV
MULTI AF
AUTO WHITE BAL
AUTO ISO
FINE P. QUALITY
NORMAL REC MODE
+ FLASH LEVEL
P.EFFECT: OFF
NORMAL SATURATION
+ CONTRAST
+ SHARPNESS
NORMAL REC MODE

Next is Setup Camera 1:
AF Mode: Single
Digital Zoom: Off
Date/Time: Day/Time
Red Eye Reduction: Off
AF Illuminator: Off
Auto Review: Off (Important saves battery power)

Next is Camera 2:
Enlarged Icon: Off

Next is Setup 1:
Beep: Off
Language: English
Initialize: OK

Thanks for this information, I posted the same pictures where the builder posts and he sent a pm to me. He wants me to send it to him to fix or replace. I thought that was good. I also will check these settings if it is not over my head. lol
