Default Buck on camera after I saw him in the woods

First wednesday of november I was out hunting at my cabin. There is about an acre or so across the road from our land that has some prime time trout creek frontage. I have never really hunted down there but decided to try it one night. Ended up seeing a nice tree to climb up in that went sideways and a nice 2 limb split i could stand in. I get out in the woods at 2, standing and scanning in the tree. Besides the road, the rest of the surroundings is corn that was just cut. High traffic area at night and a little bit during the day, was hoping that it was better with some rutting activity.

It is about 4:30 at most(gets dark at 6:30) and I am standing scanning the corn fields to call in something I spot. As I turn around to face the road again, I see a shimmer right away 20 yards in front of my. I see its a shooter right away. He starts walking again and is going behind a little cluster of 3 small trees. I start reaching for my bow and he stops. My arm is just grabbing my bow and stares for 8 seconds then turns and walks up the hill side, crosses the road and goes back onto my land.

It was just bad luck, those big boys know when something isn't normal. I don't think I got busted because he didn't run, blow or raise his tail. Just that damn big buck sense they have which helps them get big.

Here is the buck, would have been a nice wall mount. Any guesses on what he would have scored? I guess probably in the 145+ range. Guess I will have to take a few more shots this week before gun season opens up.

Yeah, it is almost that time. My buddy broke my finger and i have been out of work since sept 20th. Have been hunting a decent amount. We were at my cabin for a week and saw at least 100 deer, lots of nice bucks, but we are holding out for monsters. We can shoot nice deer almost anytime up there. The land is over in western wisconsin below buffalo. I plan on giving it one last shot before gun and head up wednesday. He saw one Monster but didn't have a shot.

There is a bar over by my cabin and someone registered an 18 pointer that had a 25 inch inside spread! Thats a damn HOG, would love to see a picture or some story on that. Hopefully its not some hermit and no one will see the buck.
