Default Adirondack Moose

Got these pics this spring/summer in the southern Adirondacks. Been waiting for moose pics for a long time - well worth the wait.

Nice pictures. Thanks for sharing. I find trying to capture moose on trail camera
is basically blind luck. A moose does not seem to care whether there is a trail to follow or not. I will basically plow its way through bush. Or they will wonder were ever and
spot a snack over there and off they go. On the other hand, deer or elk usually will follow a trail unless interupted or scared for some reason. Even then they will run down an open trail if possible.

I didn't realize there were moose in NY. What part of the state would you consider the southern Adirondacks? Is there a season in NY?

We're about 1/2 hour into the Park, sort of west of Speculator. No season, but maybe someday. I have heard that there are estimates of 800 animals in the Adirondacks.

Default Nice to see

I,m in North Eastern NY .
Although I,ve never got a moose on pics or seen one in person ,
We have had a few close to our home,
One hit by a tractor trailer a couple years ago.
One actualy shot illegaly in Town a few years ago.
And my wife was driving home one afternoon a few years ago , my daughter in the back seat ( was then 6 yrs old ) says look mommy a big deer , My wire looks to her left and standing on the edge of the road see,s a monster bull and says That aint no deer.
Holy crap was he big.
I,m abought 45 minutes North of the Adirondacks in NY...
Very Nice Pics, Nice to see them around..
Hopefuly someday we will have a Moose season soon ..
