As far as hunting goes, I'd be looking for the oak trees that are producing. Preferably the white oaks if you have them in your area.

i am currently looking for spots to hang a stand/ scouting/camera spot...right now i am pretty sure i have my camera on an oak (not sure what kind...not a big tree man) but there are defiantly acorns around and i am looking for the right tree to hang a stand on in that area..

If you rake the leaves from around the dripline of the oak trees, then the deer will likely eat those acorns first because they are the easiest to pick up.

Food sources, bedding areas, tracks. I try to find stand locations for every wind direction. I hate getting busted.
I like to scout the fields before the season and then hunt one of those bucks opening weekend, after that the bucks like to hang back in the woods, that's when I hit the oaks.
