Default sc550

I just used my scoutguard for the 1st time. I had it set to record 35 sec videos at high sensitivity. My card was full a week later. The night time videos were great and very smooth when i watched them. The day time videos were very disappointing. They were very very choppy, not smooth at all, and would make my media player freeze. Anyone know what the issue is?

I would imagine you meant sg 550? I have 2 and both work great. Where did you get the camera? What brand SD card are you using? How many gig? Did you format the card before you started using the camera? A little more info would be helpful.

When and where did you buy the camera? My scoutguard is the older 1 and it clearly states in the directions to format the SD card by the camera when used for the 1st time. The dealer also recommended that i use either a Kingston or a PNY SD card.

Are you watching them at their true resolution of 640x480 are are you trying to make them full screen on a large monitor or tv?

You can format the card everytime you put it in the camera if you like, but its only necessary the 1st time. You format it with the supplied remote that came with the camera. After formating just take some test clips around the house or outside to see if that solved the problem. Try that and let us know. everyone here is here to help and offer advice.

Leadoperator is correct Format the card and it should be ok. If it continues, try a better card like a kingston or PNY. Those are definitely 100% compatible with the cam. If that still doesnt work, try to reset the cam as follows. With card in cam and remote plugged in, turn on the cam. You will hear 3 beeps. While it is still on, open the battery door until the light of the remote goes out. Count to 10 and close the battery door. You will hear the 3 beeps again. Go thru your menu settings to make sure everything is still the way you set it. If your interval between videos is less than 10 seconds, then also try upping it to atleast 15 seconds or more.
Let us know how that works out.

PS. It may be a PC issue as well. Let the video run completely on your pc, then run it again to see if plays well afterwards.

Bee Busy... im having some serious issues with my scoutguard. When I plug in the field setting device the screen turns blue but nothing else. I can not do any adjustments. The camera also makes random beeping sounds even when the unit is off. Prior to ll of this happening I was flying through batteries. Even when I would put in 8 brand new duracells the battery meter would read 2 bars and would be dead in a couple weeks, just taking photos. My cheap old moultire is out performing my more expensive scoutguard! Any advice?
