Default Infared flash SPOOK?

My camera has an IR flash and every animal i get a pictures of ends up looking directly at the camera in one or more of the 5 picsin series. I believe they deffiently sense something. Do you think this may spook the animal away? Deer in paticular

What cam do you have? Some models make a clunk sound and sometimes the angle of the cam may be an issue. Most IR can been seen as a red glow when at eye level but not much when angled..................

I have a few pictures during the day with my Reconyx IR camera where the deer looked directly at the camera, then ran away. They came back though after a short while so it must not have spooked them too much. It might have smelled something, who knows.

Don't forget that the deer can still smell sand see your camera. Infrared doesn't make it invisible.

Your better off buying a flash camera!!! I have seen just as many pictures of an IR camera spooking deer as I have a flash camera.

In the dark you can see the red IR...not as dramatic as a flash but its visible...fact for me- some deer spook from them and some don't.

fact for me- I've had mutliple deer that get flashed and still return on a daily basis.

I would get the heck out too if I kept gettingblinded by a flashcamera every 1-15 minutes. Most of them get used to the redglow. I had some real dandy bucks coming inevery nite before the rut. Proof that most are not going to remain spooked from the red glow.
