Default Compact flash card speed ratings

I bought an RC60 Reconyx last August and was told to use the Scan Disk Compact flash cards because there the recommended brand to be using. My camera has a rapid fire set up on It for taking pics every second. I was only getting pictures taken every 2 to 3 seconds while set on this mode. I was about to send It back today when I thought about the compact flash cards I've been using. Just for the heck of It I used one of my flash cards that I use for my no flash cuddebacks. That card Is made by Lexar. I threw that one In my camera and set It up In the house and sure enough It took pictures one second apart from each other. Sometimes It even took 2 pics per second. These memory cards all have speed ratings to them and the faster the speed ratings are the faster they will write the pictures to the cards. My Lexar card Is a 2GB card with a 80x speed rating. The Scan Disk card Is also a 2GB card but not sure on Its speed rating. Obviously Its slower then the recommended brand that Reconyx calls for. I plan on looking Into this more but thought I'd give a heads up to everyone else out there that has a Reconyx camera or any other camera that has a very fast trigger time. My RC60 has a trigger time of 1/5th of a second so the card needs to be fast for the camera to function right when taking multiple pics per trigger.

I'm blown away that Reconyx only supports MMC cards in their cameras and are not putting SD read/write in them.
MMC cards are somewhat a thing of the past.

Well thats good to know. Lexar's are the only cards I use and thats because they were cheap. Didn't know anything about speed ratings.

SanDisk 2mb Ultra II cars are on sale on Ebay for $9.96 each shipped. The card says 15 mb/s on the front of it. I have no trouble getting pictures with my RM45, the cheap USB card reader I have is slower than a sick snail crossing a maple syrup puddle in Antarctica.
