Default Curly - What is this

I got this small deer I been watching all year with brow tines that curl out so we knicknamed Curly. Well in the last week he broke off one of his brows , but as you can see in the new picture there is either a straight stick or what appears to be a broken arrow through his neck. What does every else think it is? I know the newest pic is blasted with flash but I can't figure out what it is.

Looks like a stick stuck in his brow tine laying on his neck.

I'm going to disagree with you guy's on this I'm pretty sure it's an arrow shaft. My reasoning is take a straight edge of paper or card and align it to both sides of the shaft. It's perfectly in-line with each other can't say I've ever seen a stick that straight before. But wondering if it's been stuck with this arrow behind the head in between the hide and muscle? If you get this buck let us know. Very interesting. Good luck.

I wasn't going to be shooting this buck this year if I saw it. It's got good future potential but not quite ready. I just hope that if it is an arrow, that it's not bad enough to were he'll get sick and die. I guess I'll know more next week if I have anymore pics of him.

I lean toward a stick or other natural item. If it's an arrow, then he managed to break off both ends without getting it out--no fletching or broadhead, plus it's not long enough to be an unbroken arrow.

Did you get any more pics of it? I think if it was a broken arrow then it would be prettybent up but it looks pretty staight to me. Looks like a stick to me????

It looks like a stick to me also. If you look just above his head just inside of his unbroken brow tine... u can see what appears to be some more of the stick. It looks like a wish bone shaped limb that has managed to "fork" his brown tine. Hopefully that makes sene.

Im pretty darn sure its not an arrow... If you look at the top of the "thing" it looks wider then the bottom

Just my 2 cents
