hoyteen,

Possibly, but I enhanced the pic. and I think I would tend to say it is a fawn with a lot of spots. But then what do I know, I couldn't get my own pie-bald pictures strait.

Blessings.....Pastorjim

I was getting pictures of deer that looked just like that, I think it has something to do with the Infra fed light from your camera. Mine were with a Moultrie I-40. I had pics of the same deer in color and there were no indications of any pie-bald markings.

I have not had any quite like that, but I do get some light and dark spots from time to time. That was actually how i could tell one buck from another because one buck had a lighter spot on his butt.

jthelm,

I don't know what the exact genetic anomoly is but what you will see with a pie-bald deer is big white blotches with no particular pattern. Think about cows you have seen and the random pattern you see on their coats. That's similar to a pie-bald deer. I have only seen one, live, in over 25yrs of hunting, and that was last year.

Blessings.....Pastorjim
