May have came up from Arkansas. We have a small wild heard here in Arkansas around the Buffalo river that we hunt every year.(Permit drawing only) Last year 20 total were taken 8 Bulls & 12 antlerless elk. We also have an Alligator season.

If i recall, about 15 or 20 years ago a wild moose showed up in Iowa. they are still trying to figure that one out.

there is an elk farm not to far from you...about 5 miles east of bedford along highway 2....don't know but maybe they had one get loose
