Default management???

im debating on whether or not to take this buck out of the herd this year if presented the chance. he looks like a management deer what r your thoughts

Man the deer hunting world is going to hell. Thats a nice buck now and he'd be even greater next year, not all deer can push 200 inches you know....

im from iowa and they get a whole heck of alot bigger than this one i was just wanting to know the thoughts on his genetics and ifhe should be takin out of the herd as a management deer who knows he could be w whopper next year but judging by his main frame 6pt rack im highly doubtin it because his g2s wont get much more lentgh i wouldnt think

The deer only looks 2 years old to me. Let him grow for crying out loud. If in fact he is 2 years old he will make a huge jump when he turns 3. Then you will have a better idea of what he is going to be. He is just way to young to be questioning if he is management or not.

My motto on shooting bucks is "if your not going to hang it, don't bang it". I would watch him another year or two, shoot a doe for your freezer.

You are completely right, jumpum. I would bust the tar out of him. That's a cull buck for sure. That deer looks 3 to me and he should at least be a well developed 8 pt by that age. He just doesn't have the rack that I'm sure you would expect in your area. I would try to put an arrow in him before the rut!
