i would have bought another I40 but i do hear good things about the SG550. hopefully you won't have the flash issues that some have reported.

The SG550 and Moultrie I40 are both great cams. Each hashad some issues, but both companies are addressing them very well, better than most. They seem to care about their customer complaints and resolve them.

A good thing is that the new firmware 2.0 came out for the sg550. It resolves about 95% of the previous glitches it was experiencing. All the cams ordered now have the new firmware. This keeps all functions within the hardwares limits. Results, improved function and speed. My tests have been flawless so far I'm still impressed with its trigger speed. My results have ranged between 0.8 - 1.2 seconds.

let us know how the cam works. there's a lot of biased opinions about that cam (dealers) on these message boards. I don't listen to a word they say about the quality of the cam (sorry, it's true). I want to hear from people that paid money for the cam. It seems every year there is a hyped camera - sometime they are good and sometimes it's hype....please, let us know.

Well, I didnt get mine for free... Everything i've said is based on my own personal use and tests. I got hooked on trail cams a few years back. I had an I40 which worked ok until it died(after the warranty)[:@] and would get one again but not too happy with the slower trigger times on the 2008 models. Thats why in comparison, I like the SG550 a bit more because of its small size and fast trigger.

There is a list of dealers for that cam rick at www.huntingcamonline.com along with specs.
