Default Moultrie I40 at 60 inches

Hey guys...

is 36 inches the norm for trail cams...??????????

Isn't it all about the angle of the cam and what you are capturing.....???

I have my I40 set at 60 inches with a slight angle...and the AIM caught my movement at 35 feet.....

HOW HIGH DO YOU SET YOUR CAMS????

My camera is about 12ish feet back from the feeder. It is about 4 feet of the ground.

I usually set them up different depending on where they are (we have a lot of steep grades), but to set them up on lavel ground at say a feeder or mineral site...I set mine about waist high, which I guess is a little over three feet.....

I've had 1 as high as 7 feet up due to the curvature of the tree. I just use the laser and use my hand as a backstop and walk backwards to see where its pointing. If I have to I'll adjust the camera by using a stick or something to shim behind the camera to get it where I want it to be.

Interesting....I used a stick as well...to shim my I40 because of the tree angle....actually used a corn stalk...

I usually go for around 12 to 15 feet back from chosen point of picture spot. I hang mine acording to dips and grades. Usually on flat ground about 3.5 feet off the ground. Im using the AT-5 camera mounts right now from alpine archery. They can be mounted on trees or fence posts and are adjustable. I find i still shim with sticks to get it just right. I use the laser to set the aim.
