Leaf river does make a hell of a camera, however I have no experience with them in that cold of weather. I hunt and use cameras in the south...

From everything I've been reading and hearing from some die hard trail camera guys, the new Moultrie I-40 and I-60 are the way to go. Both cameras are taking excellent photos and are IR so they don't have a visible flash. From what I've heard battery life is pretty good too. The I-40 is 4.0 MP and the I-60 is 6.0 MP. The only other difference is that that 60 has a built-in image viewer and the 40 does. For the $60 difference I don't think it's worth it. Personally, I think I'm going to pick up an I-40 next.

Check out the full review on the I-40 here: http://trailcam.com/blogs/trail_camera_reviews/archive/2008/03/06/moultrie-game-spy-i-40-infrared-trail-camera.aspx

As others have said...I really like the moultrie. I have an older one that I have had for 2+ years, and it takes great pics and I haven't had any problems. From what I have read...the I40 gets excellent battery life.

Under $300? I think the prize goes to the new kid on the block, the scout guard 550. IR, 5 mp, LONG battery life, video, lots of program options, easy to program, smallest size on the market, super fast trigger speed.

What he said [8D] It is definitely alot of camera for the money. Love the fast trigger time which makes it tops for trails. The I-40 has a slower trigger for 2008 which is not that good for trails at 3 seconds but good for feeders. SG550 is the one in my opinion.......
