anytime you are in the woods, you risk spooking game. do not go soley on the advise given before my post. check the solunar tables for the day you plan on checking your cam. these tables give the major and minor feeding times (times deer/game are most likely to be up and moving). sometimes the major feeding time is mid day when some people think they are always bedded down. just my 2 cents.

Personally, I think mid day is the best and I only check mine 4-5 timesa year between the months of May-Sept. That's just me though. By that time I know what's in there and I know the general population. I have a 2 gig memory cards that I switch out that holds like 1500 pics. I think hunters do more harm to a spot by checking a trail cam to often.

I agree. Once I know there is a buck or two I want to hunt in a specific area, I don't even use the trail cameras in that area anymore. There's no need to. Put them somewhere else you normally would not hunt or your back up spot. You may be surprised at what you find?
