Default Working with the flintlock today

I got my Traditions Mountain Rifle out today. Its been a while but she didn't let me down!

I used 70gr 3fg Goex, .020" Patch and .490" round balls at 50 yards to get warmed up.

This MR's pan likes a heavy dose of 4fg, but fires it instantly. Accuracy overall for 5 shots was excellent.

I am actually going to order a couple cva bobcat style rear sights and tap those in to see if it clears up the rear sight for me. Ever since getting my eyes updated, that rear sight is just a wee bit fuzzy now. Or it was the glare today, that always is an issue.

Just a nice simple, accurate deer load I may try out this september.

I'm sorry for the comment I'm about to make but man if you wanna be omish the Stache gotta go...lol... That's a good group how far were you shooting? I had considered getting a mountain rifle from Traditions but I got so many it takes most of my time just keeping up with them.

wow that sounds like it would be a real tight loading combo Jon?
I keep looking at my Pedersoli frontier rifle. I got to get that out and shoot it. Just so much going on with hospital visits and surgeries on both me and my wife.
We were up at 4:15 this morning and out of the house at 4:45 for her surgery. All went well

What twist does that rifle have? It looks a lot like the Woodsman Hawken Rifle also. That is some good shooting.

Clem, its a nice snug fit, but can be reloaded without trouble with a wood ramrod.

Cayugad, it has a 32" barrel with a 1:48 twist.

Jon, that's good shooting for sure. I don't believe I could see that well. I've been blind in my left eye for about 4 years and woke up two weeks ago and I could see in my left eye but no peripheral vision. So currently everything is blurry. I would say she's a keeper though.
