Default Magnus Snuffer or Magnus 2 blade for...

a #52 recurve shooting wood arrows.
Can I expect pass thoughs on hogs & deer out to 20-30 yards with the 100 grain snuffer?
I really like the classic look of the snuffer and the extra damage it will do but would I be better off just shooting
a Magnus 2 blade?

I did a search on numerous sites and didn't really find the answers I was looking for.

TIA

Mike I am not sure what kind of answer you were looking for. I have seen a bunch of threads stating the virtue of the two blade and how well it penetrates. All I can tell you is that I shoot SHARP 145 grain Snuffers and have had complete pass throughs, enterance wound and an exit wouund on all the deer I have shot with Snuffers. They were mounted on 2216 aluminum and cedar shafts. Last year I shot clean through a Florida pig. CourseI was only 10 yards away and was shooting African Ebony Reed Wood (Gold Tip Carbons) out of a 54# recurve. The answer I think you need to look for is can you get them
hair popping SHARP and can you put the arrow in the RIGHT spot?

I would vote for the Magnus 2 blade, especially with a 52# bow. My own (unscientific) tests convinced me they penetrate much better, and I can sharpen them easier than Snuffers.

For deer...I'd snuff 'em. Don't know much about hogs though.

Between a Snuffer and a Magnus II out of a 52# recurve, the only real qestion is how far in the dirt on the other side of that deer do you need the arrow to stick?
