arrow flight

Hi, I am new to the forum and new to traditional archery. I have a question about arrow flight. I am shooting a 50# recurve with a 28" carbon arrow. My arrows are spined for 35-55# and I use a 125 grain tip, but my arrows seem to be kicking to the right. I also shoot from the shelf and my arrows weigh 7.4 gpi. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not alot of info on your set-up, but I'm betting you're overspined. Try heavier points.

I agree with Vic. The label doesn't mean the arrow will work. Nock right (for a right-handed shooter) is an indication that your arrows are overspined for that bow.

I apologize for my ignorance, but I am shooting left-handed. Does this mean that I am underspined, then?

Yep--nock right is an indication of weak spine for a left-handed shooter. Try some lighter points to confirm though--it could be something else.

Are you shooting "off the shelf"? What's your brace ht & nock point set at? Try nocking your arrow upside down & shoot a few to see what happens.

I think I just replied to your post on the Leatherwall and it said something a little different? But if your arrows are kicking as you say right after release, it could be a knock heigth problem as the arrow is hitting the shelf ot riser on release, if they are flying and hitting were you are looking but after hitting the target the knock point is to the right, do not worry about this, it is your target media doing this. Other than this, there is other great info posted here also, but we need to know what EXACTLY is happening from release to impact, So we can help you better.

I never noticed any mention to type of fletching on your arrows. And since you are new to traditional archery and probably shooting off the shelf, I might mention that shooting vanes off the shelf could give you the results your getting. In that case you need to switch to feathers.
