Default Crusader. IBO legal?

Since they wont let me use my TD Hunter in the IBO traditional class I am thinking of going to longbow. Anyone know if the Crusader qualifys as a legal longbow in the IBO 3d shoots.

1. Competitors shooting traditional longbow class will use a longbow defined as: a bow when strung the string touches only the nocks of the bow. A bow at the shelf shall be cut no closer than 1/8 inch to the centerline of the bow. In case a bow cut within 1/8 of center shot is found, it may be re-qualified by adding a leather pad to a thickness that will meet the rules. Cushion plungers or mechanical adjustments shall not be permitted

I don't know anything about the rules but by what you have (I assume) quoted the Crusader should match that criteria. I believe mine would.

personally I dont think it would. Not because of the center riser but the fact that both my crusaders look like they come over the bottom of the string grooves about 1/16th of an inche before they lift off the limbs. You could raise the braceheight to some crazy figure though and I bet it would work LOL!

The CM Crusader not only meets IBO qualification standards for Traditional Longbow class, but is one of the bows preferred by some of the best shooters. Just ask WFL/KY, he's taken several major IBO events w/one. Are you aware that your HunterII will easily meet IBO MRU (Male Recurve Unaided) class?

Dan, were "the guys in Anchorage" IBO officials? Not that I am, but the crusader is legal for longbow class in every event that I'm aware of...

I have shot one in many IBO national events. My advice is, you should make the man telling you it is not legal prove it!When he can not the swelling of his head will go down and you can shoot it!

Lol Bill. Looks like I will have to wait till next winter again where the Los Anchorage crew gets back to shootin as winters almost up for this year. I will definatly haggle them about it. Then again, it dont matter if they throw me in the curve class or not, I'll still givem a run for there money <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>!

Hmm I see some yes's and some no's. Looks like it would be kinda risky. Would hate to qualify for the world and then make the trip out to it and then not be able to shoot in my chosen class.
