Default Checkmate Atilla

I've seen one advertised as a "50s style" recurve. I shot in the 50s and most 'curves back then had the same riser/grip as the current longbows. Anybody cast some light on this? Chad> how long of draw will the atilla accomadate?

The standard grip is pretty much like the Crusader grip, but can be modified some on a custom order. Being so short and not having a very deflexed riser, I believe the reccomended max draw for one (to avoid stack) is around 28"--would have to check to be sure. I have a picture of one if you would like to see it (never shot one though). If I recall correctly, they are more for folks that just prefer that style--performance isn't as good as the Falcon or Hunters. Will try to check and be sure I am right about this.

I'd like to see a picture of one. I like the idea of a 58/60" recurve, but need a longbow grip and the window 1/16 to 1/8 off center. Went too long with longbows to switch. Saxon makes a good one, but they are a little pricey for an experiment.

Chad, could you send me a picture too.
I shot the Saxon at Cabelas and it felt nice (real nice grip) excepting the girl at the counter gave me a 2215 and 2315 cut to about 28 to shoot out of the 50# bow. I couldn't draw it back as far as I would have liked with the short arrows and they shotdarn near sideways. Way too stiff. A long 2016 or less would have been much better. But I loved the grip. The tab she gave me was kinda funky too.

The saxon I shot wasn't quite like the Longhorn. It didn;t have the radical look the longhorn has. I don't really like the looks of the risers of Chek-mate lonbows and flatbows. They are too oval shaped for me. Does Marc make any bows that look a more rectangular in the grip section? more like the saxon....http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...A&_DAV=0004392

Hopefully that is not too long. Anybody care to teach me to post pics?
