Default Arrow Selection

I recently purchased a Fred Bear Super Kodiak a month ago and i need help on choosing arrows. I know that i will be gettin Gold Tip XT but im not sure what spine i need. My bow is set for 55pounds at 28" but i pull about 26 so im pulling around 50 pounds. I want my arrows to be at the least 440gr including tip but not sure how im going to do that. What spine, lenght or arrow, length of feather, and broadhead weight would work best with my set up? Thanks you for your help.

Hi,
i'm Fred, i leave in France. By us, the traditionnal bowhunter choice very heavy arrows. If would like shoot a carbon arrow, i love the Carbon Express 4560, cut at 28 inchs and 150 grs bullet. I prefer the 5,5 inch fletching for have a better flying with brodhead.
Most bowhunter choice the XX75 2020 for have the heavier arrow as possible.
I'm intersted to have the other mind, you have a big experience in your country !

Vapor,Goldtip 3555's should shoot real good off your bow-I use the same shooting my 52#-55# recurves and they fly absolutely flawless.I use a 125gr point also.

That was what i was thinking was to go with the 3555, but how do i get the extra weight? I know gold tip has their weight system and they have 20 and 50gr weights to put in your arrow but if adding the weights wont that decrease the spine then needing the 5575? Or would i be alright for hunting whitetail with just the arrow at 27", 5.5 inch feathers, 125gr tip with no added weight? Thanks for your help

I use a single wgt(20gr) at the point and 3gr/inch wgt tubes,4.5" shield-cut feathers on a crest wrap-finished wgt. is around 490gr.The GT 3555 spine out at 64# and they fly flawlessly!!I'm betting they will off your bow, too.
I also have some 5575's and they're a little squirrelly going downrange.I put a screw-in point adapter(35gr) for glue-on points and that seemed to weaken the spine up a bit and straighten them out pretty good.
I've shot some of the 3555's without the weights/tubes and they fly just as good-although off my bows they're a little more noisier.BTW,welcome to the forums.Jim

Vapor,I don't know if they're a GoldTip product or aftermarket for any carbons.They're basically like a long straw.The ones I saw were 2gr/inch and 3gr/inch.For a 27" shaft,you'll gain 81gr using the 3gr tube.
