RE: Getting started.
I'm not familiar with the Hoyt bow but I am familiar with 60#bows and if I were you I'd look for something about 10# lighter.Your shoulder and back will thank you,your form will be alot easier to work into,and you'll be less likely to develop bad habits with a lighter bow.Check around-there's plenty of classifieds that have some really nice bows that I'm sure you'd be able to find something a little more "shootable" for a beginner.
I know quite a few shooters that shoot heavier bows very well but they've worked up to those poundages and they still string up a lighter bow for some up-close form work.
