WFL,

How do you like your Sley Longbow ?
I have one of Pat's 68" recurves and love it. Pat said, his Longbows were revamped and improved and are not on his website yet.
Is yours a one piece or a take-down ? What type of handle does your bow have ?
Sorry to bug you with all the questions, but since you own one...lol.

Sag.,

I'm still new to this site and don't know how to post Pic's, so any help would be great.

My Sley is a one-piece longbow. 60" long and 54#'s @ 24". It has 3 lams. of bamboo. Tonkin cane on the back, ***anese bamboo in the center, and heat temperd on the belly. I am not sure what the riser is ,but it has alot of grain to it. There is also a red strip thru it. The handle is a copy of another bow handle of mine. Very small with a little palm swell. The workmanship of this bow is amazing ! This bow has ZERO handshock.
It is shooting a 8.7 grain per # arrow at 182 fps.

All that being said let me tell you about the way I shoot it. Let me tell you that I have a 24" drawlength and up until I shot this bow the fastest thing I had shot was 153 fps. When I talked with Pat He told my to give him a while and he would come up with something that would be faster. About a week later he called and said he had found something that worked. He was not joking !!!
I have spent these last couple of weeks learning to shoot agian. Just about everything is a foot high, but I like it! Another couple of weeks and I'll have it!!

BTW my poor shooting is all Me. This Bow IS AWESOME!!!!

Bill

P.S. Somebody help me with the picture thing !

WFL, (Bill)

Thanks for the reply.
Sounds like a great looking bow.
I wasn't very clear with my question about your riser.
I meant, does your riser look like a hybrid style like Arrowsmit's Dakota or a straight H.H. style ?
You described it very well, thanks.
I'm getting 185fps with my recurve at 10.42 gr. per lb. But my recurve is 60# @ 30" draw. I'm pretty pleased with it though.
Considering your draw length, yours is smoking.
Sorry, I don't have a scanner or digital and can't even show my own bow and don't know how it's done.
Mine isn't shown at Pat's site either.
Stealthycat is pretty good at it.
Maybe, he will see this thread and offer to help you post a pic of your bow. That is, if you can email a pic to him.
How about it Stealthy ?

Bill, that is a fantastic looking longbow. I love the look of the riser and the grip looks very comfy. With your draw length that longbow smokes an arrow. Does Sley have a website?

Bill,

Great looking Sley!
Great to finally get to see one.
4feathers, The website is www.sleybow.com but there are no Longbows shown at present.
Just combination bows and recurves.
I won't say my Sley Recurve is better than any other recurve but I wouldn't trade it for anything out there. My recurve is a new design and isn't on the site either.
