Default Just In Case Anyone Is Wondering.....

I'm still here, just REALLY busy. I still check the board often, and hope to be able to start posting again before too long. Also wanted to welcome the new folks to the board--great to have you here! If I can help you with anything, feel free to e-mail me.

Chad

REALLY busy? ok then, I'll make ya even MORE busy. I'll be ordering a string or two... Chad, I ended up buying the 56" short riser model. No hard feelings, I hope. Well alright, I suspect a couple whacks over the knuckles with a good heavy spline cedar would be warranted. But I sure could use a NICE string or two.

We had a fun hunt, but Chad didn't take a deer. The first morning we went to the Bass Pro Shop sell and spent to much. That evening we went to Harman Springs (where Chad took his FIRST ever deer). I didn't get anything and Chad stayed in the car. The big dummy left his clothes at the house, the temperature and wind was brutal. Saturday morning, I shot a small 3 pointer and Chad fell asleep in the stand. That evening and the next morning, was a bust, nether of us saw a deer. Nonetheless, we had a great time. Chad finally brought Betsy and his son to visit. Also, this was the first year (in 21 years since married) that all the turkey leftovers have been gone by Monday. Chad and I are hoping that he will be up for one more hunt between Christmas and New Years. Take care........Tom

Hey Tom, what did you do, throw away those leftovers?

Good to see you guys are still hunting, and congrats on the 3pter. I am off Mon-Fri for a few days of hunting with the muzzleloader, then back to bow hunting for the rest of December.

No problem at all PineLander, and thanks! Now, to straighten out Tom's story.......

I didn't fall asleep! I would have fallen out of the stand if I had--might have bobbed my head once (or twice), but that's all. And I had two does pin me down for almost an hour Sat. evening, but never had an opportunity to shoot. The larger one (mother to the smaller one, I believe, although both were mature) knew the stand was there, and came in looking. They hung around for a long time, but she kept watching and stayed just out of my range most of the time. Oh well.....it was fun anyway! I'll just have to make up for it next trip....

I just have one question and it is for Betsy.

Betsy,

Did the big fella gobble all the way home to MS after eating all of Tom's turkey?
