Default Build my own recurve?

I have a couple pieces yew in my shed hanging for years now.
When i look at them i allways tell myself i want to make a bow out of them.
The logs are to short to make a one piece bow out of them, but what about a recurve?
Does anyone did this?
Is there a manual for such a thing?

You can make a longbow out of the 2 short pcs. by splicing the billets together. Here' s what the Z-splice would like like.

pick up Glenn St Charles video Billets to bows. He makes a yew longbow from two billets.

Dean Torge' s video shows the z splice being laid out and cut also very well....

Raymond, I' ve made a few selfbows, but I' m no expert. Certainly not when it comes to making a recurve selfbow. But I don' t think the basic rule on bow length would change... double your draw length and add 10-20% for the finished bow length. For a recurve, I' d say that would do for the blanked out stave. Then you can boil the ends and bend them over a form to recurve them.

I' ve been wanting to try my hand at making a recurved selfbow, but just haven' t been able to summon the courage to try it yet. I' d bet it presents some challenges when it comes to tillering.

No, i have not build one before.
But i guess there always has to be a first time for everything and i happend to have a couple nice pieces of yew.
My brother is carpenter for his work and he can saw and shave the raw material.
I am learning, reading and waiting for comments.
