The shortest bow you are comfortable and accurate with. I use a 66" longbow, and have used as long as 70" , but it takes some getting used to. I' d shoot a shorter one, but I use this bow for everything, and don' t like to swap up.

Chad nailed it. My 66" recurve is quick, quiet, & stable @ my 30" draw, & I prefer it over any other bow I own. But 64" is my longbow length of choice...go figure, huh?

I' ve gotten used to progressively shorter bows over the years.

I think it' s probably important to determine what portion of the bow length is actually in the limbs. I prefer short bows with long limbs. Since I don' t use takedowns and don' t use a bow sight I have no need for extended risers.

Consequently, I prefer my ChekMate Attila 56 incher over any bow I' ve used. I suspect it would be plenty short for a tree stand and is certainly short enough for kneeling shots or blind shots without being concerned too much about contacting the ground with the lower limb tip. I can' t say that for the longer bows I' ve used, especially the 66 incher.

I will say I' ve never had very good luck with short flatbows in the 60 inch range, whether duoflexed or not. Recurves definitely help when the lengths get that short or shorter.

WULFF,

I really like my 58" Iron Mountain longbow. I also hunt with 52" Cascade Golden Hawk recurve. It' s really nice in the stand. I guess the the bow that give' s me the less problems is my 48" olsage selfbow. As stated above the shorter the better out of a climbing treestand.

Best of luck,

Bill
