Default Brace height question

Does anyone happen to know the proper brace height for an old Darton Ranger??

No, I don' t.

Most old recurves have brace heights running 7 1/2 to 8 1/2 inches. Some heavily reflexed handle bows went even 9" and more. I wouldn' t go under 7 1/2" in any case and would call 8" a fairly safe bet to be within it' s range.

I' ve always kinda used the string grooves on the belly of the limb tips (at least on bows that have ' em). I want to see about 1/2" of the end of the string groove when the bow is strung.

I set my Ranger around 8" . Nice little recurves
