Default Newbie Looking For Help

So I am a total newbie. Just got myself a recurve bow. I am going to be practicing and hopefully hunting by next year. I'm here asking for resources to get me started. I have 0 hunting experience so whatever you guys recommend is great and appreciated.

thanks

You need to get target arrow made or buy them from a shop. I might suggest buying them and learn to shoot before learning to make arrows. Going to a shop might be the best and use this maybe to figure what arrow you need

Read up on instinctive shooting and snap shooting and practice at them. Read some and ask more questions.

When you learn more, you'll ask better questions.

I learn a lot from reading the forums and hearing from the more *seasoned* archer guys and gals. Welcome and good luck!

I snap shoot all the time, but I will say I have been shooting for 30+ years and its skill that is hard learned for a beginner. I aim instinctively while drawing the bow and when i hit anchor I release. I did not start snap shooting though and do not think I would have been good starting with it.

The problem with people doing it is they loose their form focusing on the snap part. I shoot worse trying to gap shoot and the longer I hold it, the worse I shoot. It's a to each his own and no one is right.

Yes I agree-snap is crap but do not believe all that you read as there is so much miss information given on bow sites. This could be one of them??
