We had a BALL!!! Friday was miserable with rain, but the club members were great and handled it the best they could. Sat. and Sun. (today) were beautiful! I was there with BCY--didn't shoot the course, but did sneak off long enough to shoot the long-distance novelty. They had a turkey set at around 75 yds, and a deer are around 100 yds. Hit the target at all, get one ticket. Hit the vitals, get 3 tickets. $5 bought 8 shots. Bad part was it was really windy, and the wind was very inconsistent. Once you found a spot, it would change with the wind! I shot at the deer a total of 24 times, got 6 tickets (1 vital, 3 body). Shot at the turkey 32 times, got 8 tickets (2 vitals, two body--the two vital hits were in one round). It was nerve wracking--you could see the arrow headed for the target, then see the wind move it--arrgghhh!!!
Anyway, on our way home today I got a phone call--I won both targets! Whoo-hoo!! I'll never get that lucky again!
If you get a chance next year, the KY Tradfest is a great shoot. Lots of vendors, great club members, and the course was really good when I shot it before. One of the best events I've been to.

Almost forgot--I was shooting a Samick Journey recurve. Great shooting bows, especially for the price. Fit and finish is obviously not the same as a $1,000 custom, but I don't think I would have shot any better with any bow. I put a BCY-X string on it and that made a world of difference.
