Default Favorite Veneer?

Getting in the mood for a new bow, but can' t decide what veneer or riser wood to go with. Any suggestions?

For me, the riser is easy, dymondwood. As for a limb veneer, I guess it just depends. My new bow has a shedua quarter cut veneers which I really like. One day I think I' m going to have to have some bocote veneers. I really like the heavily figured woods.

I' ve been kinda thinking of combining Cocobolo, Bocote, & Black Walnut. Would make a dark bow, but I think it would look real nice.

Guess I should have posted what I am trying to decide between [&:] .....

Riser: probably a combination of two of these woods--bocote, birdseye bocote, cocoblo, Macassar ebony, Bolivian rosewood, and/or Claro walnut.

Limb veneer: birdseye/curly maple, birdseye/quilted maple, beeswing eucalyptus, waterfall bubinga, Tamo ash, curly French walnut, Macassar ebony, bocote, birdseye bocote.

Yew limbs, on a Chek-Mate Crusader (that much I do know).

The Macassar ebony is a beatiful piece of wood, and I would love to have that on a riser. As long as it has a nice consistant grain. Overlays, maybe some sort of red. For the limbs, I always like contast to the riser, personally, I might go with clear glass, and a light stain on the yew.

I feel your pain! lol Those are some cool looking veneers. I could do with either the bocote or the bubinga in, say, maybe a longhorn...

Bocate and the maccassar ebony in the riser with one of the maples in the limbs. Makes for a great contratsting color combo I' ll post pictures of my new Crusader with the maccasssar ebony riser and curly/birdseye maple limb veneers as soon as I get my new digital camera. Other camera was lost in the office fire
