Default Newbie to traditional shooting

I have been converted. Have been a compound hunter for years but my friend finally got me to make the switch last week. I got a Black hawk yellowjacket 46#@28. I love shooting it. Hopefully by next year i will be proficient enough to hunt with one.

Congrats, and welcome to the sport! Hopefully you will be able to get good hands-on instruction. I believe most of us would have progressed much quicker and be much further along if we had.

If not, get good books/videos. The best video I know of is "Masters of the Barebow, Volume III". Rick McKinney's "The Simple Art of Winning" is supposed to be very good as far as books go.

No No No Nate, sell your new bow and take compound back up, this is to addicting, and no known cure for trad shooting.

Welcome to the club, take your time in learning.

I have hunted traditional since I was a kid and yes I picked up a compound for a little while. To me traditional is so much easier and for lack of better word more spiritual. I feel more at one with my surroundinds. I do not even hunt with my guns anymore.
