Probably would work for a 45lb modern longbow. But a person needs to know what is firing this projectile before saying if it would work.

Generally what i find is straight stick longbows with B50 string shoots bests with the poundage of the bow. So a straight 50lb longbow, no reflex or deflex might shoot these arrows well. A heavily R/D longbow with say fastflight generally shoots 65lb arrows best. A average selfbow like osage likes arrows about 10lbs less than the bows wieght.

So my hand made osage 52lbs likes 45lb arrows. Depends on you release also. When I started shooting, I needed weak spined arrows, but the better I got, the more heavier I needed. I went from needing a 2016 aluminum with 145gr point to what I shoot today is a 2018 alum with 125gr point. Big difference.

Ya know the best thing would be to talk to the person thats making the arrows for you, they are usually more than helpful in getting you the correct arrows! Plus its fun talking bows and arrows!

If the bow is a recurve and an actual 55lbs at 28", I would go for 60-65lbs arrows.

ok, it's been awhile since I dabbled in this, but if I remember correctly, the AMO determines the length of the string that you'd use on that bow... also, 45/50 @ 28" means that you'll be pulling that poundage at that draw length.. if your draw length is longer, that poundage increases by I think 2 or 3 lbs per inch( someone more up on this may help here, but I think that's about right. you also have a maximun draw that bow will support. in other words , it may only support a DL up to ,say, 30/31"... you'd be best served to go to a reputable archery dealer to get you exactly what you need, Bro....
