Default Longbows of today

I've got an argument to settle here. Are the longbows of today mostly center shot or not?

Most I have seen are cut to center, but not past. Black widows are cut past. So in other words your arrow will need some flexing.

That's exactly what I figured Mark. There by no means like they use to be back In the day.

The ones I try to make, are definately not centershot. But depending on the stave, they might be.

Depends on what you mean by "back in the day". I figure most today are cut to center (not past, or even close to centershot).

I get a kick when someone refers to a deflex/reflex longbow as something other than "tradtional", when there's been cave drawings discovered depicting deflex/reflex longbows.

I am a little surprized about the center shot answers. There are a lot of bowyers out there that are willing to do so and I have had option in the past to go up tp 3/16" past. You maybe limited in material that can be used however and will not be allowed to compete in a lot of classes.

To me however, it is not completely necessary and it will weaken the riser. Busted risers are surelyno fun! [:'(]
