I was going to work this morning and saw a 4pt. buck bedded down by the road. I noticed a car coming at me just fefor then with a busted headlight. I turned around and went back to where the deer was. When I stopped he stood up. I noticed as he walked about 20 yards his leg was broken just above his knee. I called the sheriff's office to get a hold of the game warden. I sat and watched the deer go across the road to the fence and try to figure out how to get over it. He was almost hit 3 more times. I had decided to put him down after sitting with no response from Game warden for 30 minutes. He was walking toward me on the opposite side of the road. I was going to wait till he got closer to shoot him with my .357 but a car came and he found a low spot and crawled under fence. about and hour later the game warden finally called. So now there is a nice sized 4pt. out there that will be eaten by coyotes.
It's all how you look at it. Granted, humans will not consume it, but it will not go to waist. It may even prevent another healthy deer from being taken down and eaten that day.

may get a chance to kill something this week.
Me too I am heading out to Kent's Friday for the week end hopefully a hog or 3 will cross my path so I can get the take down bloody
If you dont get a shot or three at a hog, then something is wrong. Ive seen no less than three everytime ive gone out. The big deer might be moving too. You probably get a chance at deer and hog. But hogs for sure. Sun. i set and watch 30+ hogs cross my path. Everything from singles to doubles and a few packs of 3 or 4. One huge boar by himself. I hope you and Bob shot all of them.
