Default 2008 Kansas hunt - updated Friday morning, I tagged a buck :) page 4

Again I'm blessed to be able to go to Kansas. The folks who invite me are golden, the landowners as friendly as you'll find, wild deer and big bucks in a very different type of hunting in western Kansas. I've hunted out there several years, I've taken bucks on 3 of those years including this one with a longbow in 2003

Today one landowner where we primarily do our hunting called and said they're watching a 190" 6x6 typical !

Wow .... these guys don't get excited about bucks unless they're really giants and this one is!

No pictures of it yet.

My equipment will be

60" Zipper recurve, about 52-53# @ 27"
28" ICS 400 weight tubes and 100 gr brass inserts
120 grain Zwickey Eskimos
total arrow weight about 680 grains I believe

Here is the current weather forecast - I'll be getting there after an all night/morning drive at noon Friday, I'll be in a stand that afternoon

Oh my gosh stealth what in the world is going on. You have worked so hard in keeping your identity private, now your using your real name and now a real life picture. Whats the world coming too.

Fine deer there. Hope you kill one with the zipper. I haven't killed yet myself. Having a bummer year.

Johnny called today, a landowner we normally hunt and he asked when we were going to be there. From the above photos you can guess we told him that we might be hunting this other place. He said he's been seeing TWO bruiser bucks and we might want to rethink that

Boys I'm doing some shooting this weekend. I think we'll hit this thing right on, and I'm practicingvery well from my tree stand, very well. C'mon Friday afternoon! I'll drive all morning and be in the stand by 3pm
