Schultzy, check out the website
http://www.mcaapcontrolledhunts.com/. Anybody can put in for this hunt. It doesn't matter if you're an oklahoma resident or not. The applications can be found on Oklahoma's Fish and Game website at
www.wildlifedepartment.comand you have to enter by the first week of May each year. The results are then posted in July. I really like the idea of traditional only. They do offer a shotgun hunt (antlerless only) on years when the doe population needs to be thinned. You can tell by the pictures that there are some real monsters on the property. These are free range deer, but the property is huge (approx. 40,000 acres) so they can manage it with supplemental food plots and perscribed burning. They have a biologist that does deer counts and other surveys and studies. It's a really neat setting and they've had great success with it. I just didn't know if any other states did this. I think it's a great idea.
