Default Russ, Look what i found.

There was a man making a tiekie bar on his patio. He had one 8' piece of bamboo left over so I bought it from him. I was able to rip it into 4 very nice backings outof it. Twohad some bad spots on them, so i threw them out. Here is what I got going today.

Bottom board is a nice piece of Ipe 37"x5"x2".I ripeda 1.5" piece off of it and then riped the face in two and W spliced it together for a core. It is in the oven right now. Ill be able tomake three cores from this board. It just came in the mail today.

Above the ipe is all the backing lams I riped from that one piece of bamboo.

Above the boo is a very nice piece of curly maple. I ripedtwo lams from itand groundthem for the trilam bow im makeing. They are parallel. I spliced them with just a slant splice. Ill be pouring glass over them due to the violated grain. I wanted to use it as a backing because of how curly the grain is.

Above the curly maple is a piece of cherry that I used to cut the core lam from for my trilam bow. It is a full lenght taperd lam. Ive got lots of milage from this one board. Ive made two bows with it and loads of risers and overlays.

Above that is a piece of hickory im going to make my belly lam from for the trilam. Itis a full length tapered lam as well.

Then, there is that nice piece of cocabola im going to do something with. I might use it for the ipe boo bow as a riser and as tip overlays under antler or horn.

The board above that is some sasafras i was using to adjust my radial arm saw with. Its just scrap.

Got the trilam cut out, ground, tapered, and glued up. Ill work on tillering this trilam while I bake the ipe boo bow ill glue up tomorrow. Ive also got a nice osage board coming in. Im going to make an osage boo bow. Ive never made that combo. It will be a great combo. The ipe boo I built earlier is such a sweet shooting bow, the osage will be even better. I might end up keeping one of these bows. My brother is enjoying the ipe boo I built in my build along.
