I have been at it for 3 years, and effective range is 18-20 yards. Use all kinds of bows.

15 - 25 yards

Been using trad gear since I was 5 now 52.

Had a compound period but now back to full time long bow.

I am currently using Kanga #1 LB, but am going to make a TD LB

How long have I been shooting Traditional bows- 31 years. My dad bought me my 1st recurve at 3 years old.

How long have I been hunting with Traditional bows- 14 years this year with the same exact recurve.

My set up- WindWalker Take Down Custom Made Recurve. 73lbs at 28.5". XX75 2216 4" 4 fletched Aluminum arrows tipped with 125 grain 3 blade Magnus Snuffer Broadheads.

My effective range- Nothing over 20 yards. 12 to 13 yards is my favorite yardage to shoot at animals. I have taken 2 different deer at 21 yards and 22 yards. Them particular years I was on big time with my shooting out to 25 yards. Regardless though of my shooting I'd never take a shot beyond that at an animal no matter what his size was.

I've been shooting recurves for 45-+ years, I'm 52.
My effective range is out to 30 yrds max.
My setup is mostly recurves, one longbow. I use mostly carbon arrows now but I still like woodies.

This is part of the collection

I shot a recurve for about 4 years, 20 some years ago when I was a kid. I'm in my second year of shooting trad bows.
I hunted last season with one, and had a 15 yds max.
This season I hope to have a 22-25 yd max(at least for elk) 18-20 for deer. But the way I have been shooting lately, my max distance is about 48" which is the length of my arm holding an arrow, as I'm going to need to be close enough to stab the dang thing. [:@]

I hear ya Ryan. Today was one of them days for me. Everything was going great then all of sudden the flood gates opened and it went down hill in a hurry. I got so ticked off being I couldn't figure out my problem that I had to quit. These types of bows are frustrating at times thats for sure!! But I love em!!
